BHS Story Hour
About
In the winter of 2021, The Whipple Writing Program sponsored our first BHS Moth-inspired Radio Hour around the theme of “Navigating Uncertainty.” The Moth is a non-profit group based in New York City that focuses on the art and craft of storytelling. They organize story slams, creative writing workshops, and weekly radio hours, in which individuals share personal stories from their lives.
The first BHS Story Hour in 2021 featured 6 BHS students who worked with our Whipple Faculty to craft their stories fitting the theme. These storytellers helped to start a new tradition at BHS. In 2022 we hosted our second successful year of BHS Story Hour around the BHS motto and theme of "Freedom and Responsibility". Our 2023 storytellers focused on the motto "This Is Hard, You Can Do It, We Will Help You." You can check out three years of incredible stories and learn more about our authors below.
This year, we are hosting our fourth annual BHS Story Hour with a new group of 8 BHS students who are writing stories inspired by one of our BHS mottos "We are not done yet." This will be an evening of great stories and you can attend virtually or in person on Wednesday, April 10th from 7:00 - 8:30 pm in our STEM Commons at 115 Greenough Street.
