Lila Cannon

2024 Whipple Writing Fellow

Lila Cannon ‘26 spends her time competing in and teaching robotics, playing soccer, and immersing herself in scientific discovery. She has a passion for STEM and values accessibility to educational opportunities for minority groups, working as the head of the Brookline Robotics Initiative and founding member and leader of the Women in Computer Science club. Beyond STEM, Lila loves to argue and express her opinions through speech and writing. As a captain of the Mock Trial team and winner of the John Curtin prize for best history research paper, she prides herself on researched writing. She has always enjoyed writing and has kept a journal since she was very young. Lila believes that writing is one of the most effective ways to dispel misinformation and explore the unknown. She is very excited to work with all of the other Whipple fellows this summer and produce a meaningful and carefully-crafted piece of writing that explores the mysteries of the brain, its disorders and how it affects relationships.
